Summary Justice Khawaja says there is no room in the constitution to establish parallel institutions.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday disposed of the review petitions filed by the government in the appointment of judges case.Earlier, a four-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Shahid M Siddiqui resumed the hearing of the review petitions.During the hearing, Justice Jawad S Khawaja remarked that the eight-member parliamentary committee did not have the status of parliament. Rather, he said, the parliamentary committee was answerable to parliament. He said there was no room in the constitution to establish parallel institutions.The review petitions were filed by the federal government.
