Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that there is no room for adventurism in the constitution and the army should not interfere in politics.Addressing the participants of a ceremony at the Staff College Quetta in Islamabad, the CJP said that the armed forces should safeguard the country against internal and external threats and it was the responsibility of the Supreme Court to protect the constitution.The CJP said that the army should work while remaining under its limits outlined in the constitution as their intervention in politics had damaged the democratic institutions.
