Dr Fozia Siddiqui said the US authorities permitted her sister, Dr Aafia Siddiqui, to contact her family only after the date of appeal of her case had passed.Talking to a news channel, Fozia said that April 15 was the last date to file an appeal against her sentence but the US authorities did not allow Aafia to contact us before April 15.She said that if Aafia had allowed to contact us earlier, we would have tried to convince her to file an appeal against the verdict.Aafia Siddiqui was charged with murder attempt on US soldiers in Afghanistan. She was sentenced to 86 years in prison in September 2010.
