Summary US envoy to Pakistan said that the dialogue process is progressing in the right direction.
In an interview, US Ambassador Cameron Munter said that a new phase of constructive dialogues between Pakistan and the United States had started. Munter said that the presence of American officials in Pakistan and the issue of drone attacks were also on the agenda of talks. Munter saidthat Pak-US relations passed through difficult situation during the last two months, but that issue had now been over. He said that the dialogue between the two countries was progressing in the right direction.The US ambassador claimed that the recent meeting between the heads of the CIA and ISI was beneficial. He also said that Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir would be coming to Washington next week for bilateral talks on important issues.Munter said that General David Petraeus and Admiral Mike Mullen along with three top commanders would visit Pakistan in the coming week. He said that the House of Representatives Speaker John Banner will also be visiting Islamabad in the coming weeks.
