Summary Around 400,000 persons are receiving pension through EOBI
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has sent a summary to finance ministry seeking 20 percent increase in the pension of its pensioners.
A total of Rs5,250 are being given to the pensioners of EOIB which are not ample for the retired employees to fulfill their needs, so, at least 20pc increase has been recommended in this regard.
According to sources, if the government approves this summary that was sent to finance ministry, then retired employees will receive Rs 1050 extra as pension.
At the present moment, around 400,000 persons are receiving pension through EOBI, however, the government has to bear a burden of Rs 420 million.
