Summary The electricity shortfall is causing 6 to 9 hours load shedding across the country.
According to the Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO), the demand of the power supply has reached 13,702MW per day and the power generation is 10, 700MW.Tarbela Dam is generating only 2,662MW electricity after reaching its water reservoir at dead level. IPPs are producing 6,194MW electricity and 700MW electricity is being provided to KESC.Meanwhile, the duration of loadsheding has been increased due intensity of weather in different areas including Peshawar.Ten to fourteen hours unannounced loadshedding continues in Peshawar. Shortage of water is creating problems in different areas as the tube wells have turned non-functional due to loadshedding.
