A three-member Supreme Court (SC) bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard a petition against the proposed devolution of the HEC on Monday.Accepting the petition against the proposed devolution of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Supreme Court has summoned the Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq on Tuesday.The petitioner’s lawyer told the court that the government had issued a notification for HEC’s devolution to the provinces. He requested the court to issue a stay order against the notification. The court summoned the attorney general and other parties and adjourned the hearing till Tuesday.
