Punjab cabinet approves wheat procurement policy

A cabinet held on Saturday under the chair of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took various decisions including to cut in the ratio of the property tax in the province. The food secretary briefed the meeting on the wheat procurement policy. The CM directed the officials to purchase maximum wheat from flood hit areas and the empty bags would be provided on top priority basis in the areas. The cabinet also approved to cut 65 percent excise tax on chair lifts in Murree.The meeting allowed cut in property tax from 25 percent to 10 percent. The cabinet approved imposition of duty on organising fashion shows, musical concerts and horse races.
