Pakistans consumer price up by 18 percent in March from a year ago, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics. Pakistans wholesale price index (WPI) rose 25.41 percent in March from a year earlier, and was up 3.34 percent over February, according to the bureau.Inflation surged by 13.04 percent in March due to increase in petroleum prices, revealed reports released by various research houses.According to Top line and Investment Securities, the inflation was up by 13.04 percent while Global Securities put it at 13.03 percent.However, the Investment Cap put the inflation at 12.09 percent. The affects of petroleum prices increase would be experienced in the current month.
