RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – A session court in Rawalpindi on Monday approved bail plea of govt female officer Ammara Riaz accused of torturing her minor maid.
As per details acquired, the husband of the accused approached court and filed a bail petition. The court approved bail plea against surety bonds of Rs50000 till October 29.
Earlier yesterday, a medical report confirmed that 11-year-old Kinza—hired as domestic worker—was subjected to brutal and inhuman torture by her employers.
As per details garnered, the minor girl went under in-depth medical examination at Rawalpindi’s Benazir Bhutto Hospital. The report states that Kinza is unable to move her left shoulder and arm.
The report also states that multiple wounds have been found across girl’s body. Similarly, injuries including bloodshot, black eyes were also found.
An ultrasound was also taken as minor maid complaint about pain and swelling in stomach.
Kinza—who managed to escape the house—has accused her employers govt officer Ammara Riaz and her doctor husband Mohsin Riaz of torturing her with wires, belts and ropes and starving her.
She further says she is kicked and stomped on while she sleeps.
Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari took notice of the case and said the ministry is "keeping a close eye [on the matter] to ensure justice for the little girl".
