KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least three dacoits were killed in alleged police encounter near Northern Bypass at the Super Highway in Karachi on late Monday night, Dunya News reported.

According to details, alleged dacoits came face to face with police near the Northern Bypass. On seeing police, the dacoits opened fire at the police party. Police returned the fire as a result three dacoits were killed.

Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies of hospital. Rescue sources said that the identity of the dacoits, killed in encounter, is not yet known.

Separately, police arrested three street criminals during snap checking in Gulshan Iqbal area. Police sources said that the arrested accused were involved in more than 35 cases of street crimes.

Meanwhile, residents of Shah Faisal Colony apprehended three motorcycle lifers and handed them to police. Resident informed police that the accused were involved in several cases of motorcycle thefts.

On the other hand, a man was killed in road accident near Maripur Truck Stand. Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead body to Civil Hospital. Rescue sources said that the identity of the deceased is not yet known.
