(Dunya News) – Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar on Saturday became victim of rising street crimes in metropolis as unknown robbers snatched govt car GS-99 from him at gunpoint in broad daylight.
As per details garnered, the incident occurred in Defence Phase-VI area of Karachi nearly at 3PM.
Talking to media, Karachi Mayor stated three robbers snatched car at gunpoint from the driver. He stated the incident has been reported in police station concerned.
Taking notice of the incident, DIG South suspended and demoted SHO Darakhshan. DIG also ordered probe into the incident and directed officials to nab the culprits at earliest.
On the other hand, DIG Javed Odho stated at least two groups of criminals are active in the area. He vowed to catch the criminals at earliest as CCTV footage is available.
