KARACHI (Dunya News) - An anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Karachi on Monday awarded death sentences to two Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members for the the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Zahra Shahid in 2013.
According to details, Mohammad Rashid alias Master and Zahid Abbas Zaidi were handed the death penalty while the two other accused Irfan alias Lamba and Kaleem were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
The four men were charged with killing the PTI leader on the eve of re-polling on Karachi’s National Assembly constituency, NA-250.
The prosecution team told court that the suspects have been identified by the witnesses. Police had set a prize money worth Rs25 lac for recognizing the suspects.
