Summary General elections for the seats of NA and provincial assemblies will be held on Wednesday (July 25)
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Database and Registration Authority has issued Computerized National Identity Cards (CHICs) to 650,000 citizens during the last five days, enabling them to cast their votes.
According to NADRA Spokesperson, about 300,000 CNICs are ready to be delivered to the people. Printing of cards continued round the clock to meet the task.
He said that the NADRA offices will remain open till nine tonight to serve the masses.
“NADRA centers will also remain open on Wednesday till two in the afternoon,” the spokesperson said and added the applicants can get their cards from NADRA offices to cast their votes.
Meanwhile, general elections for the seats of National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies will be held on Wednesday (July 25).
The polling will begin at eight in the morning and continue till six in the evening. It is the first time that the polling time has been extended by one hour for the convenience of voters.
There will be a public holiday tomorrow so that the people could exercise their right to vote without any hindrance.
Of the 272 seats of National Assembly, elections will be held on 270 seats. Election on two National Assembly constituencies have been postponed.
As regards the four provincial assemblies, elections will be held on 570 seats against the total tally of 577.
