ISLMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan on Friday has penned a letter to Chief Justice Commissioner demanding the dismissal of Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana.

The letter says that Election Commission of Pakistan is responsible to held independent, neutral and transparent elections under the constitution.

Governor Punjab and his family has strong links with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) as his son is contesting election 2018 from PP-214 and his links with party are causing instability in the election scenario, adds the letter.

Awan has requested to take notice of the situation on emergency basis.

It is pertinent to remember that PTI also demanded Election Commission to extend the polling time of the general election 2018 going to be held on July 25.

In a letter written to the ECP by the PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry demanded the Commission to extend the polling hours from 5pm to 8pm in the upcoming elections.

The letter stated that the intensity of heatwave has increased and the extension in polling hours would facilitate the general public and especially the elders and patients.

The letter further stated that more people can use their right to vote if the polling time is extended.

The election commission accepted the demand and extended the polling time by one hour for general election 2018.
