ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday has decided to deploy soldiers of Pak Army at facility of Printing Corporation Headquarters where ballot papers for general elections 2018 will be printed.
As per details garnered, officials of ECP and Printing Press held high-level meeting here in Islamabad today and agreed to ban entrance of irrelevant persons in Corportaion’s head office.
Furthermore, an estimated 210 million ballot papers will be printed by Printing Corporation, Security Printing Press and Postal Press under supervision of ECP from July-1.
As many as 30 million ballot papers will be printed for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas and Islamabad. 100 million ballot papers will be printed for Balochistan, Sindh and Southern Punjab whereas seven million ballot papers will be printed for the rest of the Punjab.
ECP has also completed import of watermark paper from UK.
An official said the army would ensure safe and secure transportation of non-market paper with unique security features.
General elections 2018 will be held on July-25.
