LAHORE (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Monday said that threats were hurled to bomb the anti-graft watchdog’s headquarters with explosives.
Addressing a meeting at NAB Lahore on Monday, he said that the country is under the debt of US$90 billion, adding that the exposing mega-corruption is in the interest of the country.
Justice (r) Javed Iqbal said that some people want the Bureau to arrest them so they can portray themselves as political martyrs in the upcoming general elections.
He said that the technical issues are being faced to prove white collar crimes, adding that the institution’s policy is to concentrate on the case.
The NAB chairman went on to say that the Bureau has nothing to do with the elections and the watchdog only has the aim of eradicating corruption and safeguarding the interest of the country.
He said that the NAB is an institution not made for just one province, party or person and that it cannot accommodate any corrupt officers.
