Summary The Appellate Tribunals will decide the appeals by 27th of this month.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Today was the last day for filing of appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers by Returning Officers for the National and provincial assemblies  seats.

The Election Commission had established twenty-one appellate tribunals in the four provinces and the federal capital territory to hear the appeals.

The Appellate Tribunals will decide the appeals by 27th of this month, after which revised list of candidates will be published the following day.

The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by 29th of this month. The ECP will allot election symbols to the candidates on 30th of this month.

ACTION PLAN REGARDING BALLOT PAPERS

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also released action plan regarding printing and dispatch of ballot papers for upcoming general elections to the four Provincial Election Commissioners, Pakistan National Security Printing Corporation, Pakistan Post Foundation and Pakistan Printing Corporation Press Islamabad.

Under the action plan, all the provincial election commissioners have been directed to get detail of the number of ballot papers from returning officers concerned and provide the same to the aforementioned Printing Presses by 30th of this month so that printing of ballot papers could be started at the earliest.

The Election Commission has also sent a letter to Pakistan Army for foolproof security during printing and dispatch of ballot papers.
