Summary Pakistan along with other countries observes International Water Day, on Tuesday.
At least 880 million people on earth have no access to safe drinking water as World Water Day is being observed. On this day, various international organisations have made special reports and provided statistics. The reports shed light on places where people do not have access clean drinking water. Every year, thousands of people fall victim to waterborne diseases where more than 2.7 billion people don’t have a basic facility of a sewage system. A report by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), in Kuala Lumpur said that in various African and Asian countries, people have to travel miles to get safe drinking water. It said that there should not be any more delays for taking steps to ensure better water management.
