ISLAMABAD (Dunya New) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) has increased sentence of Tayyaba torture case’s culprits Raja Khuram and his wife from one year to three and half years and three years respectively on Monday.
In juvenile housemaid case, two-member bench comprised of Azhar Munallah and justice Gul Hassan Aurangzaib has mentioned in their verdict that Pakistan’s criminal justice system is so weak that it cannot protect the underprivileged segments of society
However, over the hiding evidences and presenting wrong information, two-member bench has increased fine from PKR-50000 to PKR-250000 of both husband and wife in Tayyaba Case, source added.
Furthermore, it is mentioned in Juvenile housemaid case that the SHO of Police Station I-9 Islamabad had picked up the child but instead of rushing her to the hospital, he took her to police station for the recording of her statement in the presence of woman who kept interjecting and selected question had asked.
Nevertheless, there was a contradiction found in child’s statement before the magistrate and SHO, so IHC directs Inspector General (IG) to initiate an inquiry over the video statement of Tayyaba.
