Summary Chairman NADRA Ali Arshad Hakeem said that more than thousand addresses of National Identity Cards were changed on the request of an MPA of PML-N.
A meeting of Public Accounts Committee held under the chair of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad.Chairman NADRA briefed the committee about the matter of issuance of Identity Cards which was discussed in the meeting.Chaudhry Nisar Ali khan said that the committee received complains of illegal change of addresses. He said that several people were illegally changing the addresses and were being issued the NICs from Rawalpindi whereas it could not be issued on the basis of non-residential address.Chairman NADRA said that this system has been introduced to facilitate the common citizens. He told the committee that 7941 NICs were issued in Rawalpindi by NADRA Mobile Unit on the request of PML-N leaders.The committee was told that 1381 addresses were changed on the request of N-League MPA Sarfraz Afzal. Chaudhry Nisar, hearing this, annoyed and said that NADRA Chairman was politicising the briefing. He said that the information regarding the NIC issue should be provided to him as PAC Chairman instead of presenting in the meeting.
