Summary According to PSO, 20,000 tonnes of furnace oil was being supplied to power sector on daily basis.

Electricity shortfall has crossed 2,700MW due to increasing differences between PEPCO and PSO. PSO said that 20,000 tonnes of furnace oil was being supplied to power sector on daily basis.According to PEPCO sources, production of electricity is 11,295MW while its demand is 45,000MW. Decrease in production of electricity was due to low supply of oil.PSO rejecting the allegation of PEPCO said that 20,000 tonnes oil was being shifted to power sector under the agreement. This furnace oil was being supplied to HUBCO, KEPCO, KESC and WAPDA.
