ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday summoned case file of May 12 clash that claimed lives of over two dozen people in 2007.

During the hearing at Supreme Court (SC) Karachi registry, CJP asked Barrister Faisal Siddiqui whether the case has been investigated or not over which, he said that the case is currently under hearing in Sindh High Court (SHC).

Tell me the case number so that I can review it, CJP remarked.

It is to be mentioned here that on May 12, 2007, as many as 27 people were killed while more than 140 injured after opposing political groups clashed with one another on Shahrah-e-Faisal on the arrival of former CJP Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry in Karachi.

On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) are set to stage power show in the provincial capital Karachi today.

PPP will hold their public gathering in Jinnah garden situated adjacent to Quaid’s mausoleum. The rally is being held to pay tribute to May 12, 2007 martyrs.

PTI is also geared up to flex their political muscle in Karachi alongside PPP. The preparations for the rally are in the final phase which will take place in a ground positioned next to Aladdin park on Rashid Minhas road.
