LAHORE (Dunya News) – Tehreek-i-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA) has ended its sit-in protest in Lahore in the wee hours of Friday after the Punjab government ‘accepted’ all demands of the protesters.

The decision to end sit-in protest was taken by the advisory council of the religious party after a consultative meeting. “All of our demands have been accepted by the government,” Tehreek-i-Labaik leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi said while announcing the decision to end the protest.

He said that copy of Raja Zafarul Haq report will be provided to the protesters while case of TLYRA activists killed in police crackdown during Faizabad sit-in protest has been registered in a Rawalpindi police station.

Earlier, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday claimed that dialogue with Tehreek-i-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA) had been successful as Punjab government ‘accepted’ all demands of the protesters.

However, he added that contemplation on two demands of the protesters was still underway.

“Punjab government held talks with top brass of religious parties open heartedly. We are hopeful that protesters will cooperate with the government. Citizens are suffering to great extent owing to ongoing sit-ins”, the provincial law minister added.
