ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Accountability court in Islamabad has resumed hearing of National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Avenfield reference against Sharif family.
During the proceedings headed by Justice Mohammad Bashir, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and captain retired Muhammad Safdar appeared in the court.
Counsel of Sharif family Khawaja Haris is continuing cross examination of head of Joint Investigation Team, Wajid Zia.
He asked whether JIT had sought record of Capital FZE Company’s owner, director and secretary from the Jable Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) over which, Wajid Zia said that he had not contacted the company in this regard. Company’s name was present in the list of trading license, he added.
The defence lawyer further asked whether he had verified the list over which, JIT head responded “No”.
Meanwhile, Justice Bashir directed Khawaja Harris to limitize his cross examination.
Talking to media, Nawaz Sharif remarked that perhaps something has dawned upon the recent group of politicians who bid farewell to PML (N). He said that those who formed Balochistan Party a few days ago were also of the same category. He completely disowned them as not belonging to PML (N) and its ideology.
Defending PML (N) performance in South Punjab, he said that Shehbaz Sharif did record number of development works there which is why they won in Lodhran.
He assailed those who change parties by terming them a shame to politics. He said that those who have defected are the same who did not vote for my presidency.
About Ch Shujaat’s recent book, he did not comment as he said that he hadn’t read the book.
