Summary At least eight people were killed and many others were injured after violence broke out in Karachi.
The violence broke out after the Supreme Court declared the appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Deedar Hussain Shah as “null and void”.Earlier, seven people were killed and 10 cars were torched when protesters turned violent against the decision of the Supreme Court. Shops, public transport, educational institutions and petrol pumps reminded closed in the city.In Sindh, the Pakistan People’s Party observed a strike against the apex court decision wherein it had appealed to the traders to keep their businesses closed and the transporters to keep their vehicles off the roads on Friday.Taxi and rickshaw drivers exploited the situation as they started overcharge the people. The Sindh education minister announced that all schools and universities would remain closed and the exams were postponed. Petrol pumps were also closed in part of Karachi.
