Today, three years have passed since terrorists attacked FIA building and an office of security agency in Model Town Lahore. In these twin attacks, as many as 35 people were killed and buildings in 0.5 km radius were damaged.At 9:15 am on 11th March 2008, terrorists rammed an explosive laden vehicle into the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) building. Almost 30 people were killed in this attack, while 200 others got injured. The intensity of this blast was so much that the whole building collapsed and turned into rubble. All buildings which were in 0.5 km radius of blast site were also damaged severely. Dozens of cars and motorbikes were also completely destroyed as a result of this blast. On the same date, just after 5 minutes of FIA building attack, terrorists struck another explosive laden vehicle into an office of security agency in Model Town Lahore. Five people were killed in this second attack.
