Teachers stage hunger strike in Lahore

The teachers threatened that all educational activities in Punjab would be suspended and teachers would continue to protest, if their demands were not accepted. The protesting teachers demanded that their scale should be revised and the government should implement the recommendations of the pay and pension committee. They said that in view of the rising inflation in the country, 50 percent salary raise was not sufficient.
