(Web Desk) – Strong condemnations were made by politicians of various political parties following Sunday’s incident in which former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was attacked with a shoe during a seminar held in Lahore.
This is the second such attack over the weekend. On Saturday, a man threw ink on Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif while he was addressing a workers convention in Sialkot.

The shoe-attack occured when Sharif was visiting Jamia Naeemia Seminary in Garhi Shahu. As Sharif reached towards the podium while greeting members, a member in the audience hurled a shoe which hit the shoulder of the former premier. Sharif is said to have remained unhurt and gave a short speech before departing.
Both the events caused a stir on social media where many prominent politicians, including those of PPP and PTI, condemned the attack on the PML-N leaders.

Recent incidents of throwing shoes and ink at PMLN leaders in sequence are deplorable and I hope that it is not an orchestrated pattern. Those doing so only show their moral bankruptcy.

I continue to condemn the repeated use of violence as a means of dissent in public gatherings. This is setting the wrong precedent for exercise of free speech & standards of democracy. It must be halted.

Hurling shoes and throwing ink at rulers is condemnable.. Why resort to such acts, when you have the option of sending them out through the power of vote? Do take your revenge but take it gracefully.

Physical abuse of politicians is highly condemnable! Disgusting trend of showing ur anger on their policies in this manner. Political opponents laughing today will be the victims in future. Put ur act together& denounce this In one united voice..

Will oppose & fight Sharif s corruption at all levels but absolutely condemn act of throwing shoe at Nawaz Sharif. Violence to show political disagreement is not the answer. Not voting for these corrupt mafias led by NS & humiliating them in elections shd be people s response.
