The contributors of this letter include legal experts, students, media personalities, artistes and human rights activists belonging to different organisations.It has been focused in the letter that forces of violence act against whoever stands against their extremist philosophy and they operate freely to curb the voices raised against their vicious agenda.The letter urges the government and its functionaries to swiftly apprehend charge, try and punish Mr Bhatti’s murderers, and also to take immediate measures to curb this trend.The federal and provincial governments, the judiciary and the security and law enforcement agencies must ensure protection for those who are publicly threatened by extremists, the letter points out.All political parties and parliamentarians have also been urged to take a clear stand on this issue.Contributors of the letter Include Nasim Zehra, Ansar Barni, Asma Jehangir, Babbar Sattar, I A Rehman, Kamran Shafi, Majida Rizvi, MarviSarmad, Masood Ashar, Samar Minallah, Arif Jamal and hundreds of personalities and organisations.
