ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Accountability court on Wednesday is recording statements of prosecution witnesses in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references against Sharif family.

During the hearing headed by Justice Mohammad Bashir, ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were allowed to leave the proceedings while the statements are being recorded in the presence of Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar.

Talking to media outside accountability court, Nawaz Sharif said that his party has never indulged in horse-trading and calls for reforms to curb this malpractice.

Former prime ministers assured parties who have been wronged in the Senate elections by horse-trading of full support in bringing reforms in the system.

Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz reached Punjab House for high-level party meeting to discuss leadership of Senate. Apart from party members, allies such as Hasil Bizenjo and Mehmood Achakzai have also been invited.

Previously, prosecution witnesses Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) producer of current affairs Shah Mahmood, Sub-Inspector in NAB police Lahore Umar Daraz and Deputy Director NAB Rawalpindi Rizwan Khan recorded their statements.

Enraged defence lawyer Khawaja Harris said that the hearing date was not given as per his will due to which, he is not ready for arguments. The lawyer left the rostrum.
