Fake medicines case: Owner of pharmaceutical company arrested over SC's order

Summary Properly inspect the factory as it is manufacturing substandard medicines, CJP directed.

ISLAMABD (Dunya News) – The security officers on Tuesday have arrested pharmaceutical company’s owner Usman over Supreme Court’s (SC) orders in fake medicines case.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar conducted hearing of the case during which, he directed the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) officer to seal the company and present report.

Properly inspect the factory as it is manufacturing substandard medicines, he commanded.

Meanwhile, the court issued suspension notification of RPO Bahawalpur, asking who is backing this dangerous move. He also ordered Punjab Inspector general to launch inquiry of his DIG and submit the report. 

Taking to media after the hearing, the suspect denied all the allegations and said that he was detained for producing cheap medicines. He said that not a single medicine of his company is unregistered.
