Summary Revenue Department put under provincial government
The Punjab cabinet on Tuesday restored the post of assistant commissioner and also approved a summary to withdraw the administrative affairs of the Punjab Revenue Department from the district governments and to hand them over to the provincial government.In a cabinet meeting held in Lahore on Tuesday, an amendment to the Local Government Ordinance, 2001 was approved and abolished the post of executive district officer for revenue.The cabinet also approved rules of business concerning the federal government departments devolved to the provinces. A special committee has also been formed in line with the Supreme Court directive to fix minimum wage at Rs 7,000.
