SC orders judicial probe into allegations against Banking Court judge

Summary The Supreme Court on Monday took notice of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General (DG) Waseem Ahmeds allegations regarding Khanani and Kalia case and ordered the Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice to get the matter investigated by a senior judge and report in seven days.

The chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry observed that no explanation had been given that at what level corruption had been committed and who was involved in it, but the allegations levelled against the Banking Court judge were serious, therefore, a transparent enquiry should be conducted.On the other hand, the court has constituted a six-member larger bench to hear the case of the officials working on contract basis in different government departments.
