Summary Justice Shaukat warned of issuing contempt of court notices to PM and other ministers.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday has strictly directed the concerning departments to present report of Faizabad sit-in case till February 20.
During the hearing headed by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, Deputy Attorney General Raja Arshad expressed resentment over delay in the submission of the report.
Justice Shaukat warned of issuing contempt of court notices to Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other ministers, saying to stop playing hide and seek with the court.
Subsequently, the hearing has been adjourned till February 20.
Earlier, Islamabad High Court (IHC) had given two options to the federation; either to present the Faizabad agreement in the parliament, or to clarify its legality in a federal level meeting.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked that police officials of Islamabad were beaten during the protest and they should get additional salaries of four months. He stated that no one is taking care of the families of police officers, and this case will continue until they are facilitated.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked that the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has not stopped the high court from hearing this case, and the IHC is conducting hearing on moral grounds.
