Summary The ruling PML-N leader apologised after video of his anti-judiciary speech surfaced

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Nehal Hashmi presented his unconditional apology in regard to the contempt of court case against him in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Reacting to the apology, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that Hashmi said he was going to create difficulties for the judiciary and now it appears unlikely. Justice Khoosa recalled how Hashmi threatened the children of the senior judges.

When Hashmi’s lawyer submitted the written apology, the apex court raised concerns on the selection of words. It was then told that the apology should be re-submitted with corrections.

Justice Dost Muhammad Khan said that Hashmi is not even aged 80 to be let go for such a mistake. “There would have been no contempt case if right words were selected,” he said.

After presenting the apology again, the PML-N leader said he can even sacrifice his life for the judiciary. He said that he awaited the court verdict regarding the apology.

The court reserved its verdict after submission of apology which will be announced later on.
