LAHORE (Dunya News) – Groups of religious workers from different parts of the province have begun to reach Lahore city as spiritual leader and politician based in Sial Sharif, Pir Hameed-ud-din Sialvi is all set to lead sit-in outside Data Darbar today (Saturday).

The protesters will pressurize Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah to tender his resignation.

The locals are facing immense problems in traveling as roads from Bhati Chowk have been blocked for the protest whereas security personnel have also been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.  





Earlier, Pir Hameed-ud-din Sialvi, who had also parted his ways with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), warned the leaders of ruling party to not play with the sentiments of the people or else ‘fire would reach the parliament’. He also claimed to receive the first bullet if the country is harmed.

He further said that Member of National Assembly (MNA) Hamza Shehbaz had asked him to postpone the rally however, he challenged him to stop the rally it the government can.

At least two Members of National Assembly (MNAs), three Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs), local government representatives and party officials had resigned during a Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH) Conference of Sunni Ittehad Council in Faisalabad’s Dhobi Ghaat Ground.

It is to be mentioned here that the followers of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah had staged sit-in protest outside Punjab Assembly, demanding Rana Sanaullah’s resignation. However, the protest was called off over Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif’s assurance to remove Sialvi’s reservations.
