24 people rescued from private jail in Nawabshah

Summary Police, acting on the directives of Sindh High Court, have recovered 24 people from a private jail of a landlord in Nawabshah.

Some peasants had approached the SHC, after escaping from the prison, against a landlord, Zaman Khan. They told the court that they were detained by the landlord and some of their inmates were still in his captivity. SHC ordered the police to rescue the prisoners. Police raided Zaman Khan’s farmhouse and recovered 24 people, including women and infants, and produced them to the court. The court granted them their right of freedom.
