KASUR (Dunya News) - Opposition leader Khurshid Shah met Zainab’s parents on Tuesday and expressed condolences over their daughter’s demise.

While talking to media, he said that Punjab government seemed helpless and vulnerable over Kasur incident.

“It is the duty of the government to safeguard the life and property of the people. But the Punjab government killed those who came to share the grief. They murdered two people and injured several others,” he maintained.

Shah asserted that the people protesting against the murder and rape of Zainab were put behind bars like criminals.

“At least 11 such incidents took place in Kasur but no attention was provided to them and government’s preference is somewhere else. The question ‘Why was Zainab killed’ is important then “Why I was evicted”,” said Shah.

He criticized Punjab police saying that they have failed the people and the state.

“Nothing productive will happen from the transfer of SP. Innocents were caught in Zainab murder case. Zainab’s murder would not have happened if the previous incidents had been given importance,” said the opposition leader.

“A similar incident happened in Mardan yesterday which was tried to conceal. Such events should not be hidden. Those who hide the murderers of children are themselves murderers,” he declared.
