CHAKWAL (Dunya News) – Polling for by-election in PP-20 constituency of Chakwal is underway with a tough competition between the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

At least 2,79,538 people will exercise their vote right in the by-election which is being contested by five candidates.

PML-N’s Chaudhry Sultan Haider and PTI’s Raja Tariq Kalis are participating in the elections. The seat fell vacant after the demise of PML-N member Chaudhry Liaquat.

Strict security arrangements have been made for the by-election. Pakistan Army, Rangers and Punjab police personnel have been deployed at sensitive polling stations.

At least 227 polling stations have been established in PP-20 among which 105 are mutual. Besides this, 814 polling booths have been formed, 393 for females and 421 for males.
