Summary The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) has summoned the chief secretary in the court over deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan. The CJP said that lawyers, judges, lecturers and professors were being kidnapped from Balochistan.
The attorney general submitted a written reply about the steps taken by the federal government in the province. Balochistan High Court Bar’s President Hadi Shakeel said that it had become difficult for the people to come out of their houses in the province. The CJP remarked that it was not the responsibility of the court to restore law and order situation but it was hearing the plea of the bar.The CJP said that it was a sensitive issue which could not be ignored. He urged the provincial and federal governments to improve law and order situation in Balochistan. The hearing was adjourned till March 8.
