Updated on

Summary Transporters in Lahore announced an increase in fares on intercity routes on Wednesday after the petroleum prices were raised by the federal government. The fares on intercity routes have been increased from Rs 20 to 200.

However, fares for intra-city routes will remain the same. Meanwhile, the Karachi Transporters Ittihad demanded an immediate reversion of petroleum prices. The transporters in Karachi said that they would go on strike for an indefinite period from tomorrow in protest against the increase in petroleum prices. The probable strike of transporters will create trouble for people in Karachi.
