Summary Christians in Pakistan started their day with ceremonies in churches amid beefed up security.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Christian community is on Monday (today) celebrating Christmas in Pakistan and across the world with traditional rituals.





Christians in Pakistan started their day with ceremonies in churches amid beefed up security and prayed for country’s sovereignty and prosperity. People have decorated their homes and religious places with lights. Special Christmas trees are prepared for the occasion.





Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain said in his message that this day reminds us of patience, kindness and religious teachings. He also acknowledged Christians’ contributions in the development and progress of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi wished the community on their festival and said Hazrat Isa (A.S) guided all humans towards righteousness and taught to seek forgiveness from God.

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, deputy speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah also felicitated Christian parliamentarians along with whole community.
