LAHORE (Dunya News) - Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday issued notices to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in foreign funding case.
ECP while accepting the petition for hearing has summoned reply from all the leaders in the case. The petition submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Farrukh Habib adopted stance that asset details of PPP and PML-N submitted in 2013 and 2015 are incomplete.
It says that evidence pertaining to the parties’ funding in US and UK are present therefore; action should be taken against them for receiving prohibited funding.
Chief Election Commissioner inquired that whether PTI admits their authority now or not, to which the lawyer responded positively. CEC remarked that conducting hearing of matters related to party funding was always the right of ECP.
