Summary PM Abbasi and CM Shehbaz Sharif participated in OIC summit today in Istanbul.
(Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif called on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Turkish President Erdogan and expressed complete support of Pakistan to the Muslim world in Jerusalem row.
Punjab CM is visiting Istanbul along with Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and participated in Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit over United States (US) President Donald Trump s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.
Before start of the OIC summit today, CM Shehbaz had a detail historic interaction with President Mahmoud Abbas and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Talking to the Palestinian President, the CM openly condemned President Donald Trump s action over Jerusalem, and called it a huge setback to the Palestinian peace process.
The CM was strongly of the opinion that this decision has reinforced the Palestinians lack of trust in the honesty of the Trump administration as a peace broker, and now, the situation will become worse in the Palestine as there will be more bloodshed.
Erdogan warmly welcomed Shehbaz Sharif and PM Abbasi, and appreciated Pakistan’s stance on this imperative matter.
CM Shehbaz especially congratulated Turkey for making sincere efforts in organizing this extraordinary summit of OIC. Particularly, the CM acknowledged Turkey’s support to Punjab’s social sector, and expressed pleasure over the unfailing support and assistance from Turkey in intensifying mutual collaboration across a vast range of areas in Punjab.

PM Abbasi declared in his address today to the summit that the United States move to name Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a clear violation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
He said it is a blatant attempt to set in motion, steps to change the historic and lawful status of the Holy City. On the behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan, PM Abbasi reiterated strong condemnation of the US decision.
