Summary Mohammad Faisal said Indian carried out over 1,300 LoC ceasefire violations this year

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has responded to the letter of her Pakistani counterpart in which it was requested to stop ceasefire violations, the foreign office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal told on Saturday.

Faisal told that the Indian government didn’t admit there violations conducted by their forces in the occupied valley of Kashmir. Swaraj wrote that the Indian forces only open fire across the Line of Control in retaliation.

He told that Pakistan will raise the issue of LoC ceasefire violations in the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), however, the India doesn’t allow UNMOGIP to work freely.

"India is not allowing the United Nations Military Observer Group for India and Pakistan to monitor the situation along the Line of Control and Working Boundary."

The foreign office spokesperson told that India conducted 1,300 LoC ceasefire violations this year. Pakistan wanted to save the loss of innocent lives residing along the villages in LoC, he added.
