Court will hear new petitions on Ajamal Kasab

Summary A special trial court has approved two applications about 2008 Mumbai attacks convict Ajmal Kasab and accused Fahim Ansari.

During the hearing of 2008 Mumbai attacks case Federal Investigation Agency prosecutor Chaudhry Zulifiqar said in his petition that a Pakistani court had issued the non bailable warrants for Ajmal Kasab and Fahim Ansari. He said that both the men are not in Pakistan and their arrest warrants could not be delivered to them. It is compulsory under the Pakistani Laws that the court should declare both the men absconders, he said.In another application, the defense lawyer Khawaja Sultan told the court that both the accused were already convicted by the Indian court. So they could not be prosecuted for the same case in Pakistan. The court will start hearing the petitions on March 5.
