Summary The Anti-terrorism Court of Rawalpindi has rejected the appeal to transfer the Musharraf attack case in an army court.

The ATC of Rawalpindi has started the trial of two accused Faqeer Hussain and Jamshaid Hussain who attacked former President General (R) Pervez Musharraf. The counsel of General (R) Pervez Musharraf has filed a petition seeking the transfer of the case in the army court. The ATC judge Akram Awan rejected the petition and remarked that the law had no provision to transfer the case in the army court. The court also directed the petitioner’s counsel to present further evidences on next hearing. The murder attempt was carried out, on 12-15-2003, when about 250 kg of high quality explosive planted under the Jhanda Chichi bridge in Rawalpindi exploded, when Pervez Musharraf’s convoy crossed the bridge.
