Summary The Sindh Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a bill to give the status of permanent employ to the non teaching staff of the Sindh Education Department.
Pakistan People’s Party, Muttahida Quami Movement, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid assembly members jointly present the bill. Some 1,187 contract workers of the Sindh Education Department would get the status of permanent employees under the bill that was unanimously passed by the house. The house also unanimously approved the Public Private Partnership Amended Bill 2011. In a question answer session, Sindh Culture Minister Sasi Palecho told the house that the 300,000 square yards land of Mohenjo-daro site is not being given to the National Highway Authority in public interest. She said that the Cultural Ministry is spending Rs 40 million on the renovation of Mohatta Palace. In several cities of the province open air auditorium are also being constructed, she added.
