Summary The hearing of the case of US citizen Raymond Davis, accused of two persons killing in Lahore, will be held today (Friday) in Kot Lakhpat jail. The counsel of the accused has refused to appear before the court.
On the other hand, the US consulate member has said that the case will be trialed in an international court. He said under the 1961 Optional Protocol, if both parties were not satisfied over the trial, the case should be trialed in an international court.According to legal expert Ahmer Bilal Sofi, under the 1961 Optional Protocol, the US can transfer the case in the international court and the Pakistan would be bound to accept the verdict of that court.
